City Of God - HOMEWORK 2

Narrative

City of God uses narrative in a complex way, manipulating the timeframe, and using a narrator to lead the audience through the film. The narratir is inside the narrative narrating in the first person. The narrative doesn’t fall easily into the usual theory. There is certainly three parts to the film which is start, middle and end. The start of the film is after all sequence that actually heralds the end of the film , and apart from being a dramatic sequence that serves to engage the audience, but is show an understanding of the changed circumstances of the city, and makes the antics of the Tender Trio look rather tame compared with the later action.

The audience is introduced to the characters and their backgrounds when they were younger. In the middle of the film there is a flash back through the characters younger years in the 1970's and 1980's to the present day. Comparing how they were then to how they are now. The themes in the film City Of God are Jealousy, violence, poverty, revenge, loyalty, fiends, betrayal and morals. The portrayal throughout the film is that the gangsters are always after each other's businesses, money and drugs. The main genre for the gangster film is violence. The themes in the City Of God such as violence show if you use violence you might get a power over some one or either business.

Genre

The film genre for City of God is Gangster. The Genre is established through the motel scene in the middle of the film. There is a sense of realism throughout the film due to the use of location and the use of children when they are fighting or committing another act of violence.

The characters don't have a good education and they struggle is shown through the different characters lifestyles which my by coused by drugs, weapons and violence in the family or in the area that they live.  The genre is made clear to the audience through the use of a narrator and the subtitles on the screen which explains the place or the year when this has happend also use of violence, language and drugs, personalities portrayed through the characters, gang wars.

Target Audience

The target audience for film City Of God is 18+ because of the content of drugs, sex, guns and violence. The gender of the target audience would be mainly male because the use of violence, guns and cars and sex and nudity.

The techniques which are used to target the audience are drugs, sex, power, crime, guns, blood, violence, strong language and also the Portuguese which is the language of the film, for people who might understand this language and get a content of the film more clearly than people who don't speak Portuguese and things that they translate on the screen might mean something different than what they said in Portuguese.

Violence

The use of Violence in the film City Of God was when Lil'Dice kills the people at the motel people who didn't do anything bad to him, Steak is forced to kill the two defenceless boys by Lil'Ze and Benny's Death. Also when Lil'Ze rapes knockout Ned's girl, Shorty kills/ murders his wife and Steak kills the boy because of Lil'Ze. The film would not be the same or rather it would not have the same effect on the audience because violence drives the movie forward. It is more violence in City Of God than in Scarface depends to the actors doing it. Also one thing to comparision to Scarface it's kids who are doing the killing not the adults and this what make more interesting than Scarface but in Scarface you have follow the plot if not you will lose the content of the film.

Representation

Violence is the main theme and is portrayed through the characters struggles and desperation. The City of God is portrayed through violence and sex. Women are seen as objects and are viewed in a sexual way.

Also the representation of Drugs Culture in the film, the Drug Culture in City of God is very much seen as the norm, whether it be to those who purchase drugs or who are the dealers. It is represented as a common trade in which sales are made daily as evident by Tiago and Rocket purchasing drugs in a fashion that is quickly glossed over, as if it were nothing. The scenes in City of God show the power attached to Drug Culture could include in which Rocket explains the chain command in regards to the selling of drugs, but the Benny entrance with his new image to a room of individuals in Lil' Ze's employs, all working in the manufacture of drugs and this is very important in the film because to consider that the WAR which is happening is between two gangs or to biggest lords is for further control the city and thus the drugs trade in the City of God.

Also what the last thing I want to say in the City of God represents someone from the area rather than the representation of their race. The people who lived in the Slum were the black poor people but in the town lived more white/ Brazilian people showing that they had more money. The children in the City of God are represented as violent and unruly also desperate  for power which they got by killing and stealing.

TASK 4D - Recording a voiceover EVALUATION - Shrek " Are We there YET

Evaluation - Shrek are we there Yet

For this task we have been put into pairs and then have to decide what scene we are going to do. ,My group choose a scene from film Shrek and it is a scene call "Are we there yet?"

The first step was to download a movie/clip from YouTube, then we have to watch it and choose the part we want to do and what going to record mean (ADR) Automated dialogue replacement or voice over.

We have to find a script on the Internet for that particular scene and then we have record the dialogue on to voice recorders.

Before recording dialogue we have to find a place to record where there not is no any echo like (roomy) etc.

The Type of microphone used is a diagetic microphone. After the recording, we drag all the files into folders, then we have edited on Reaper64.

I split the sound tracks into parts and we choose the best quality recording. Then we have to compress the sound track in Reaper and plus normalise

This picture shows the Fx option highlighted in green by clicking it would allow us to edit our sound tracks, In Fx you will have plently of different options for example using a VST ReaComp cockos will compress our tracks, also in pairs we compress tracks for different ways, such as different volume levels,  because compression reduces the peak levels of the signal, you can increase the gain on attack without causing distortion and you have to becareful what settings you choosing on plugins "FX".

To compress the soundtrack what I have to add the FX plugin which is call Cockos and select the option call VST: ReaComp (Cockos) this picture show before we compress the sound track

ADR - Automated dialogue replacement

This picture is showing the settings I have choosen. Compressing the sound track means it makes sound much move even in volume.

During our editing on Reaper we also normalized our audio recordings that is bringing the highest to volume to 0db

We used normalising in our work to get the maximum volume when our recording was a little bit quite, and we also used this method to balance our recordings volume.

After successful rendering our group work we then transformed it into Garageband to be able to synchronize the sound with the visuals from Shrek are we there yet ADR.

In Garage band we are able to edit our audio to a certain limit with the visuals presence so we can see if the whole production is synced.

Through listening to our work on "Garageband" we noticed that some elements we're distorted so we have to rerecord again and we have to check if everything is fine with dialogue and voices and after rerecording we have to do everything step by step.

The outcome of my finished scene, I was very happy that I finished my shrek scene because the recording synchronize with the animation plus was very funny. The tips to improve is to spend more time on recording and check three times before we start edit if the voices are fine or not, also what should be improved is  the way we repeat the dialogue what I mean by that is to try to record in different tempo, faster or slower and also try to change the tone and mood of voices.

In my conclusion for this task was very good experience to try to do voice over (ADR of a cartoon and any different type of film or animation. Also the positive points about the scene was everything was SYNC and well planed and negative side was it to spend more time on recording voice over and try to edit in different way what I mean is to change the voice pitch to different levels, in my shrek scene I done that but I will done it in better very if I spend more time on editing

1 - Homework - SCARFACE (1983)

Narative
The narrative of the story is single strand seeing as the story focuses on Tony the main protagonist who is surrounded by other characters. Even though there are multiple antagonists who attempt to get in the Tony way but the narrative keeps the focus only on Tony and his adventures, that is going on in the story. The narrative can also be described as linear as the events that transpire happen in a straight line from start to end. Tony's rise and downfall. There are no flashbacks, within the film it's just as you see it though there are time lapses used to show events that happen over the period or either a half. The ending of the story can be described as closed seeing as Tony Montana is shot from the back and killed, but even Tony has been shot many times but he was still alive because of the drugs he taken, he was trying to show that he will not give up even he was heart, and the ending story of Scarface has been show very closely and very understandable to the audience.

Genre
Codes and conventions used which are locations for example ghetto/wealthy areas good vs bad. Also the another convenction which was used in Scareface was revenge, power, illegal dealing/activity weapons, guns, drugs, money, murder, gangs for example mayia, triacls and bripod.
Scarface main convention was chracters nick names everyone in the film has a nick names and all we can see all characters has a long black coats, minorities.

Suits, the areas they live or the city and this is another convection which show they power and how much money they will have for example how they are dressed in the film.

Representation
Scarface is an excellent film which shows case how women and men are generally portayed in gangster films, in Scarface there are possitives and negatives surrounding the representation of women and men through the characters that we are given to learn about. The first point is that we are given the stereotypes of things in general and how we should look at them and what we should believe. Things like money means power and women are objects and showcased in Scarface is immigrants are lazy however the juxtaposition is that Tony worked very hard to get where he is now and this help us to understand that hard work sometimes pays off.

The females the main representation is the fact that in the film they are mostly being sexual objects and they are all rely on the guys to satisfy their needs, which Scarface is their main habits and rich lifestyle for example, Gina who is Tony (AL Pacino) sister she is confident and in the film she is looking a model role that is why she looks for rich guys and she goes to the club to find one but her brother was in the same club where Tony saw her and she get in to trouble. The being the dependant in the film she is treated like a child by tony which she hates very much and it also she is controlled by her mother because her mother also thinks that she is to very young and doesn't need to be exposed by the outside world. When the film progresses she becomes somewhat of a comparising of Tony being that he was at one point an OK person what I mean by that he wasn't as violent. As the film progressed she became more serious in he field of work, same as how his sister Gina changed from being innocent and then towards the end we see how she because rebellious towards her mother and Tony, through the film she like as Tony took revenge on her fiances killer (Tony) by trying to kill him. Gina as being shot by rebeillion Tony got killed.

What I want to show that women in the film can be as well very weak but when it come to there lovers and revenge they will take it to the next level of avenging which diminished the whole general represenatation of female

Target Audience
the target audience would be males the main protagonist, 18 and over due to the violence, drug use and sexual references, as well as the language within the film and the documentary about it too, as it is quite strong and inappropriate for a younger audience. However I feel that when it was released in the 80's it would have been aimed at an older audience, because back then the themes of violence and drugs, and also the gang culture were not so prominent and as much of an issue as they were today, and from what was shown on the television and in films back then, it was a really strong film in relation to the violence used, whereas now it is mild compared to what we are used to seeing, so it is not as big of a deal. The lifestyle of the characters would appeal more to a male audience for example women, drugs and money.

Violence

The Violence is the main theme conveyed in the film, though mise-en-scene and content which includes amount of deaths in the film or it mean in which wealth is acquired, an examples for this include the rioting caused by Tony (AL Pacino) and Manny in order to kill the lawyer to obtain green cards in United States and the gang Franks gang affiliates death at the hands of the Colombian dealers (drugs, money etc) . With violence being present from the beginning right through to the end of the film one can end that the core of the narrative is very violence, as without this element there would be no story, no Scareface and this is true because the violence is the main theme and the main element od the film without violence in the film there will be nothing interesting

Scareface audience

I think the target audience is 18+ because and is mostly male dominating part of the audience.

Because film has, guns , blood, drugs, money, mafia(gangs) why I am thinking because only male will have the big business, money and guns to show the power, and because I believe it would be different at time of release in comparison to this generation. Additionally through watching the film use of violence is a major factor, such as the constant use of drugs and murdering people to show they power and what they can do.

The Scareface also attracts outs audience through the themes of Power, money and women and drugs which are male dominated themes and topics (showing that is audience is males)

Scareface audience

Poster

The image of male character used to attract male audience ( showing that the males are dominate in the film)

Gun represent violence and the power to attract audience that are interested in violence film or guns

Colours codes:

Red - death, murder , blood

Black - represent gangs (mafia), suit they wear are black, business deals, struggle

white- drugs (cocaine), Tony white suit, power, dream, wealth pure.

Audience would understand colours codes and be attracted to the film.

Narrative  - its about male character who starts of low and becomes powerful.

Character.

DAVE Homework - Sound effects

http://soundbible.com/1767-15-Thousand-People.html
This sound effect that I can use to my film trailer for example when the panic wreaks around the Vatican city of Italy I can use when people are running away from danger

This sound I can use to huge chaos in dramatic moments when people are fighting to survive

This sound effect is very good for my film trailer because when you can see lot of cars around the city and you can see how the car are destroyed by nature and fall into the abyss

This sound effect can be used when the car in my film trailer trying to turn left or right to speed up a car engine

Audience Feedback - Homework

 1.  Why audience feedback is important for the development and production process of a film poster.

To ensure poster is appealing to the right audience and to appeal to wider audience, also it helps the producers to understand the audience needs better and also audience feedback includs complains and anything that can be changed.

 2.  Methods of gaining audience feedback, including complaints
The methods to gaining audience feedback can be used a questionnaire to find out what they think?, they reviews meaning comments what they think about the film poster the positive feedback etc, Interviews to find a real commentry what they think straight about the film poster and they feelings.

 3.  Examples of advantages and disadvantages

Advantages of audience feedback that you can find things that can be improved or change, also is to know what audience want to have in this poster etc

Disadvantages of audience feedback is a criticism of the film poster mean the nagative and bad things about the film poster what they don't like and what must to be change to look better.

Target Audience

1.) Who is the target audience for film poster?

I think the target audience for the film poster of my choice is around 16+ because the women on the left hand side is wearing a red dress and the red colour stand out and showing that she is the main protagonist and she is leading a group.

2.) What techniques have been used to target them?
The techniques that has been used to target the audience is the female and the way they dress her in this poster, they also move her to the front of the poster to show who is the main person/protagonist in the film.

Anchorage

3.) What is anchorage?
Anchorage is when a piece of media uses another piece of media to reduce the amount of connotations in the first, therefore allowing the audience to interpret it much more easily. For example in a newspaper, pictures are accompanied by a caption that allows us to understand what the picture is showing us. In films, background music often helps us interpret the scenario. Finally, pictures can often be described with other pictures.

4.)  How has anchorage been used to make the audience clear?
The anchorage has been used in this poster showing the annotation, example "NO NAMES. NO BADGES. NO MERCY. The film poster show that and the understanding that the film is showing a female dressed in red dress and telling that she tell what to do.

5. ) Why is it beneficial to apply anchorage to the construction of a film poster?
Because it will describe the film and will tell you something about it for example in this film poster Gangster Squad the main character is the women because she is the protagonist and she standout more than the background people

Critical Approaches - Targeting Audiences

1.)  What is segmentation?

Segmentation is dividing a different part poster and people which are targeted, for example target audience can be divide to different segments and also mean in more than one audience has been targeted and film which is targeted on the audience.

2.) How can it be applied?

The first poster shows all the characters which are shown in the film and is difficult to find which one of them is the leader and the techniques that they using is the title which is saying Roline with the ninies and the theme that they used is red and brown.

The second poster it has less characters but is more easy to see who us the protagonist and the techniques

3.) Why is it used?

Morvelisa's Critical Approaches - "Documentary Comparison" Homework 5

Documentary Comparison

The both documentaries are very good but the "The Lift" and "Bowling for Columbine" have a similarities and differences.
Firstly I will start from the first documentary that we have watched in the class which is Bowling for Columbine and then I will find the similarities in the film "The Lift".

Bowling for Columbine which was made by Michael Moore and this film has Ideal topic about the weapons in United States and the crime and whole story have been developed for many and many months, he has shown the evidence by showing the archive footage, such as TV broadcasting at that time, phone calls and interviews and  etc... what similarities the lift has is that they both directors have a representation of minority and they also dedicated to their target audience which is young adults and above. They also used a lot of close-ups on people faces and things which was around them.

The Lift documentary doesn't have any set topic and it was handheld camera which was filmed by Marc Issac the director of his documentaries, what was boring about this documentary was only one location which was a flat and he was siting 10h a day in the lift filming people or residence of the building. The similarities that I found is that they both directors been focusing on real life and situations which has happend or which will be happening soon. Establishing shots been used in both films, but what The Lift has no used in the documentary was "Dramatic Irony Juxtaposition", both they used cut away shots to show the evidence.

Michael Moore has used music and cartoons which has represent a whole story about United Stated and the power of weapons and plus he used his own voice over to tell the short story.

The reason for these similarities in both documentaries which for example was close-ups was to show people facial expression and also the establishing shots to show the area where they filming. The differences which Michael Moore has used was voice over to introduce the film and talk moreover, archive footage was main evidence that he shown as was a prove of thing that he is saying which was true about gun and crime, music was to shown the tone of film and the mood of what director want to feel it and know the pain.

The Lift has no set topic because the film director want to make us to think what the topic can be about, and the film has only one location which was the lift because the title of the film was call the lift and that why he make the in this location.

Similarities that they both dedicated to their target audience because the reason was to focus on adults because in both films has talk about topic that young people for example children will be not interested to listen. another similarities that I have found that they both been focusing on real life the reason was that they want to know about the situation or about people that they been focusing and this was planed well in the films and it is good to know about it.

TASK 2 Sound Production - Dave Star wars analyse

The Star Wars is the film who was directed and written by George Lucas and the film was made in 1977.

Stars Wars is hybrid sci-fi genre, action and adventure film which presents characters Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca and Princess Leia. The part of the narrative is that they trying to escape form empire and they run and they found the enter the trash compactor and trying avoid getting crushed and killed by the mysterious monsters one the the character drown in to water and he trying to survive and get out of this situation and they were attacked by a dianoga, which were known to live in garbage compactors (Trash compactor). Luke Skywalker was almost killed when the dianoga and took him underwater and this what I explain before, The trash compactor it start to close and is nowhere to runaway, Han Solo stop the walls with a metal bar, D2DR - decodes computer system and whole system stops and they survive.

The diegetic sound that we can hear is the voices of characters of Chewbacca, Sky Walker, Han Solo, Luke and Princess Leia. The diegetic sound is coming from dialogue and everything start from when they drop to crash compactor. To record the vocals to Star Wars film I think they used dynamic microphones and soundproof room. Chewbacca voice is the diegetic sound and actually he dialogue doesn't haven any spoken words, and he have to be more clearer than the others, also the sound of guns that are fired by the stormtroopers are diegetic sound, I think the sound was created by the foley artists in soundproof studio to create the gun sound and also the laser sound.

What interest me very much is R2-D2 and C-3PO and I was thinking a lot and I think they are both diegetic sound, I know you can not see any lip-syncing only you can hear that they making sound and also say that it can be non-diegetic sound, but what is important that you can see characters and also you can hear them speaking, so it would count to diegetic sound, where I think that the voice of C-3PO was recorded in the studio where they pitched so he has robot like vocal C-3PO is an android and R2-D2 voices were created by a analog synthesizer so that the voice will have highly qualified in vocal patterns and the sound effects to create R2-D2's vocal patterns.
The another diegetic sound that we can hear in Star War is the water when the group falls in the trash compacter, the water is a genuine sound effect, how the sound that is heard on the background and also you can see is the fact when Luke is captured by the Dianoga we hear the splashes when tried to squarm away and trying to survive.

The non-diegetic sound we can hear in the scene is the footsteps of the stormtroopers and this sound was created by the foley artists to make the stormtroopers more fearful like an soldiers or army in real life and I think the sound was recorded in an open space with soundproof walls and props for them use the sound with. The next non-diegetic sound you can hear is closing trash compactor, the sound we can hear is crashing trash such as metals, paper and etc... also the another non-diegetic sound is metal bar between the wall which block the walls and save them before they get crash and the sound it seems to me that is sound was pre-recorded and added to the sound board since it sounds like an actual machine and this look very realistic and the sound of non-diegetic sound very good.
R2-D2 is similar to machine sound patterns are recorded which include the pressure to the scene and the action and the soundtrack as well. The another non-diegetic sound is Luke trying to radio contact C-3PO, you don't see Luke talking on the radio transmitter that much and that why I thinking is non-diegetic, all you can see is quick cutaways between Luke and C-3PO for a few seconds, Luke voice was probably recorded in a soundproof studio on his own using a condenser microphones since it would be better suited for monologues and the dialogue on the radio, after the recording probably they add sound effects to make him sold like its from a radio signal to give the scene that realistic edge that it has in certain parts of the film.

The target audience will get interested in what is going to happen next in the scene because it creates atmosphere among the characters in the film so that we can also feel what they are feeling in the position that they are been put in and it is difficult for them to escape and this is create the tense and the atmosphere.

The soundtrack for Star Wars was put in fast-paced in futuristic-western type of music they choose and we can hear the sound of outside the trash compactor and it showing the action that is happen at the present time. When they get into trash compactor so it seams that the main characters having nothing to fear for the time being. But before that when Luke was caught Dianoga to break free just free just minutes later for the trash compactor to active which increase the speed of the soundtrack, because they are in danger but before it to end when RD-D2 disables the trash compactor which signals the relief of the characters and decreasing the tension of the scene.

What scene want to tell us is top get audience to get into behind the scene and fell the emanational level,as well has just watching the film.

How music can change film

Pentatonic - 5 notes
Comical - upbeat, rhythm
Sad tune different with scary because its melody with not a lot going on

Instruments used effects the mood

majestic/hero music

Morvelisa's Critical Approaches - The Lift - Marc Isaac's

The Lift

This short film documentary which is call "The Lift" was released in 2001 by the British director and cinematographer Marc Isaacs, the film was made in UK in typical english tower in East London but the date of released was in March 2003 in USA.
Marc Isaacs has made more than 10 creative documentaries for the BBC and Channel 4 since 2001, and his documentary that he made which was "The Lift". The Royal Television Society and his work has won Grierson, RTS, and BAFTA awards, as well as an abundance of international film festival prizes. The film exuded poetic value and painted a simple, profound portrait of the human condition.
In 2006 he had a retrospective at the prestigious Lussas Documentary film festival in France and his work has been included in numerous documentary books and academic studies, and because of his work and filming the documentaries people learn about him and how he is very creative.

The Purpose was less clear due to absence of voice over and plus his documentary was structure, he use of Cutaway, shots for example Fly (alive/ dead),the lift shaft. Mostly he used establishing shots(high rised flat),how the camera work it look very naturalistic from Marc point of view, also what he included that he show the close-ups odd face expression of people who use the lift

The quotes of his documentaries which he says about his own work is "They are predetermined to a large extent because they are conceived along with the idea and integrated during the shooting, but aesthetic decisions are also fully realised during the editing. Every film needs to have a strong aesthetic element. It is the film’s visual world which carries just as much meaning as the stories told verbally" He want to show his documentaries clear as possible to understand. Marc Isaac's documentaries give a clear view that his films are targeted mostly at adults at age 18+ and above because the questions that he ask in documentary give a clear clue that the film is targeted at adults.

The another of his documentaries which is Outside the Court and this short documentry was was made in 2011 and what in this short documentary he want to tell as is that he spend 3 months talking to the people who were coming in and out. Whilst waiting for their cases to be heard they reveal their lives, what was interesting that he ask 2 or 3 times about if they think that they are clear out of any criminal or offences, and he ask them how was inside, and of the people was saying that everything is secured and there is nothing that they going to miss because they got fences and I am think that this short documentary was aim at adults again becasue it show how the life is difficult if you done something bad and you can't move the time backwards and this court can caring on for months or years.

 - How do you feel the issue (s) it addresses may have impacted on the above?

Bowling for Columbine I felt that the film is fit for more of a mainstream audience because the documentary's purpose was to spread awareness about gun violence in United States and how easy it is to get a weapon in some states, also a mainstream audience because it has been released outside the country that it was created in to show other people for example in Europe how the violence and criminal are getting worse, in terms of age group I will say 16+ or over due to again the sensitivity of the controversial subject of violence and gun fire. Moore was able to widen his target audience by having his film shown not only at film festivals but also on a global scale which his documentary will be recognize every where and Michael Moore's viewpoint as he's openly mocking Americas gun policy and this is not right he want to get rid of violence by making this documentry and open eyes to all people in U.S

The Lift documentary in terms of what conventions were used to target certain audiences, in my conclusion that the target audience can be described and niche because the reason being the documentary was focuses of the lives of residents living in a flat in East London. In The Lift, this short documentary was aimed at a much older audience than it was in the documentary Bowling for Columbine, but the documentary important topics were discussed by Marc Isaacs such as one of the residents past and how he was about to cope with it, the target audience for this film would be that of an older audience. Marc Isaac looking through his style of directing and editing it's shown the main focus of his projects are on the people not himself which is why he makes on screen appearances infrequently in his documentaries and he want to direct camera at audience only.

Sound Production - Recording Dialogue - SETUP

Location
The dialogue recorded on location, which in most cases is the project’s only source of dialogue in post-production, not always recorded with correct technique or equipment's , which results in poor audio quality or create noise background or the voice-over have been not record correct.

My studio - Setup

This room will consist of two wooden doors which will be gap between them to stop the noise being heard in the recording studio.

Room Acoustics - This shows how the sound travel around the room and how is reflected from the wall to your ear.

To reduce or prevent room acoustic different materials such as foam, double layering.
Foam absorbs sound around the room which leads to less reflection.

Triple glazed windows will be used to minimised the sound

Equipment
For equipment's you will need dynamic microphone, but firstly you need to know what the best microphone to pick To record high-quality location sound the right type of microphone must be used: ultra-directional for external locations, directional (shorter) for interiors, and non-directional for cramped interiors. Shotgun mic outdoors, hyper-cardoid indoors or in a location with a lot of reflections - Schoeps MK41

Headphones -There are some great professional quality headphones styled and suited for recording studios. There are fewer suited for location use. Choose a location headphone for its low weight, high strength, comfort and extended frequency response

Bowling for Columbine

Bowling for Columbine

The Bowling for Columbine is a American documentary film made in 2002 and it was written, directed, and narrated by Michael Moore. Michael Moore was born 23rd of April in 1954 his full name is (Michael Francis Moore) , he is an American filmmaker, author, social critic, and political activist, also Moore's written and cinematic works criticize globalization, large corporations, assault weapon ownership which the previous president of USA was Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, the main things which happened long time ago and he written „the Iraq War”, also the American health care system which is very bad and capitalism.
The film is focusing on main causes for the Columbine High School massacre in 1999 and other acts of violence with guns, where in America you can buy weapons everywhere and bullets in every supermarket in every states. Michael Moore focuses on the background and environment in which the massacre took place and he is showing, tragedy, interviews with teachers and students and he showing the reactions of people how they react on the situation which happened long time ago and it show that they scare and they been praying to survive. Moore also including the South Park co-creator Matt Stone, the National Rifle Association's then-president Charlton Heston and he seeks to explain why the Columbine massacre occurred and why the United States' violent crime rate and it show that the crime in U.S grow with every year.
What was interesting that in United States you can get free gun for opening a bank account, in a early scene we can see a bank in Michigan that gives customers a free hunting rifle when they make a deposit of a certain size into a time deposit account, and he explains that every American person should have a gun to be safer at home.
Moore played a great role in his documentary film and succeed in spurring viewers to think more about the nature of violence of American; but as a gate-keeper with tendentious and aggressive approach in his documentary film, all the communication that he did seemed symbolic and some sort of individual heroic, hardly add up to a rational approach or real answer to the issue.
Michael Moore’s film enjoys a commercial success: with a budget of only $4,000,000, it grossed $40,000,000 worldwide, including $21,575,207 in the United States. It also broke box office records internationally, becoming the highest-grossing documentary in the U.K. This documentary was successful in particular geographical areas such as in Germany, Greece, Australia, Spain and United Kingdom because the total gross went over $1,000,000 and this was very successful because the film show United States in different angle and how it look like now and how the life is going on there.
I feel the issue of a bowling for columbine it show the United States in angle of weapon and crime and this is addressed to people who are young and how to know about the real life in America. The interview with Michael Moore saying about the Anti-American, and he is saying that he is an anti-American and “very pro-American you there’s nothing, there’s nothing more to do for you country, then to dissent when you feel that there is a need to send to speak out against things you see that Iran and odd and to give people opportunity to laugh had are at their own foibles” Michael Moore, the another topic which is involved in the film which he was interviewing Charlton Heston and the actor said that the problem is with Americans mixed ethnicity, Moore said that “non-aligned I don’t do vision are British television everything you see is exactly as it happened and take to there’s no reaction thers’s no, you know bakery might have seen European documentaries do this home every fact in the film is true but the film has my point of view” also Moore want to show and believe that is shooting and crime in violence in the country.

I think that the trailer show that the group of people who been targeted are children and teenagers because the film trailer says that the shooting games make the children a monster or the killers and everything is caused by the video games and game make young people in the future as the killers.

Amplitude is the objective measurement of the degree of change (positive or negative) in atmospheric pressure (the compression and rarefaction of air molecules) caused by sound waves.
Sounds with greater amplitude will produce greater changes in atmospheric pressure from high pressure to low pressure.
